DESCRIPTION
Daphnis Kokkinos together with the Šeiko Dance Company, presents a dedication to the great Dance Teacher Pina Bausch. 2020, the 80th anniversary of the birth of the legendary choreographer who gave the aesthetics of dance theater – Pina Bausch – is commemorated all over the world. To contribute to this date and to bring together professionals and the Neringa community, Šeiko Dance Company invited Daphnis Kokkinos, a longtime dancer, assistant of Pina and a choreographer. He nurtures Bausch’s tradition of movement and aesthetics, creating performances all around the world.
D. Kokkinos created the performance on the Parnidis dune in Nida, Lithuania, using the natural scenery of the Great Dune. The creative process involved 8 professional dancers and local community.
